Why did we
build a bike park?
The club’s intention in constructing a bicycle park was to encourage younger cyclists to take up the sport. Donated bicycles also made it possible to promote cycling in local schools and within the broader community.
With the support of volunteers—drawn from club members, community organisations, schools, NGOs, and the municipality—we aim to attract and develop young talent, primarily among previously disadvantaged youth.
In partnership with Overstrand Cycling, we will implement a development plan to identify a number of promising individuals each year, with the goal of preparing them for provincial and national mountain biking participation.
With the help of Overstrand Cycling, we will put a plan in place to help identify a number of individuals annually whom we can develop for provincial and national participation in mountain biking events.

Kiddies Track
The 2-6 year old children can look forward to a neat 2-way bicycle traffic track with cute road signs. This provides them with a smart track that is neatly enclosed for their safety!
There is also a play area with a sand pit; a jungle gym with a slide; a see-saw and two swings!
Bring along your own bike and helmet or hire our equipment.
We have a number of balance bikes and small pedal bikes with helmets for hire.
Parental Supervision is required on this track and the play area.

How can
you be a part of this exciting initiative?
This project cannot be carried out only by the cycling club’s committee and volunteers, and certainly not with club funds alone. For this reason, we need you—the individual cyclist, sports enthusiast, local resident, visitor, or supporter—to help make this project a reality. We also welcome partnerships with local businesses that wish to contribute to youth development through sport.
